2018 Going Back Home. I Head Out for Going Home.

 

In the 2017’s series, Whose Suitcases Am I Looking For, I applied a bird view to look down on the suitcases of myself and my friends, aiming to search the real desire in my heart, including the goodness and ugliness.

 

This time, I chose the suitcases again to explore the true ideas in people’s hearts. However, I closed the suitcases in this project so that they can move, walk, go on a trip, and get home. By doing so, I presented the scenes of the objects heading out from home on top of the humanities previously revealed by the open suitcases.

 

Going home is an act we do every day. We are in pursuit of a sense of security. It can be money, affection, and a feeling of safety originating from our childhood memory. Therefore, it naturally forms a loop of repetition in the life as if stuck in a “going home loop”.
